Who is Fit_FarmGirl?
My name is Kate Kohagen and I am an Equestrian and Fitness Professional. While I am currently a resident of El Dorado County, I thoroughly enjoy the Sacramento to Lake Tahoe area. I consider myself very blessed to live in a place with such an abundance of fitness opportunities, equestrian community, adventure and nature.
I truly believe that the healthiest bodies and best athletes are built over time with a thorough foundation. "From The Ground Up" is more than a catch phrase. It is a mentality, practice, and a badge of honor. I value hard work and earned advancement.
I began my professional career in fitness as a Certified Personal Trainer in 2006. Since then, I have achieved a diverse fitness background with certificates ranging from general group fitness to specialties such as Spinning and Baptiste Yoga 200HR YTT. I have trained at various Southern California athletic clubs, as well as, the Ojai Valley Inn and Spa. In El Dorado County, I have coached at SwimLabs of El Dorado Hills. I am currently teaching at RubiconFit in Placerville. My most recent completed certification is through Brand X Method for Professional Youth Coach.
While fitness is definitely part of who I am, horsemanship is the flip side of that coin. In 2011, I founded The Ranch at Hidden Oaks. My sanctuary for animals is a 501c3 non-profit organization that provides educational animal encounters to the community. (For more information on The Ranch please visit AtTheRanch.org) In addition to operating The Ranch, I provide various services to the local equestrian community. Offerings include foundational horsemanship lessons, trail exposure/fitness, travel care, and horse-integrated yoga. My equestrian background includes both English and Western, trail, endurance, trail trials, rehabilitation, and mounted archery. I am also a member of the Flying Arrows Equestrian Drill Team.
